Coincidences and Miracles (When God Remains Anonymous)
Meet the Author
Dale S Robbins
Dale has enjoyed a long career in the corporate world, and as an educator and author, working with high school students from across the United States and around the world. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he has served in many ward and stake leadership capacities, including Stake Young Men's President, High Councilor, and Bishop.
His experiences in teaching, mentoring youth, and serving in his faith community inspire the themes of family, faith, and quiet miracles found in his writing.
What begins as a chance meeting between two ordinary families soon unfolds into a journey of adventure, first love, danger, and personal discovery. As the story progresses, the characters begin to sense that their crossing paths were no accident. Beneath the excitement and suspense lies a quiet but powerful truth: this encounter was part of a loving God’s plan to guide them toward His gospel—or gently lead them back home to it. What first appeared to be coincidence becomes something far more sacred: a miracle.
History remembers him only for a single violent moment in Gethsemane — the servant whose ear was severed and instantly healed by the Savior. Scripture moves on. This novel dares to linger. Told by an old man sharing his life story with his grandson in fading Ephesian light, Malchus imagines the hidden journey of a man forever changed by one touch of mercy.
The figures who appear briefly in the New Testament — then vanish from Scripture — each carried a story worth telling. This book gives voice to the forgotten ones, exploring their lives, their faith, and what it may have meant to encounter the Savior and walk forward into an uncertain world.
You're fourteen years old. Your dad has just announced he's been visited by beings from another world. Life at home turns upside down — until the entire family is swept from this world to a faraway place where the mysteries of God and His universe unfold in ways none of them expected.
A beloved story, newly updated for a new generation. The Anniversary Edition of Alton's Smile arrives this September — a book that readers have long called one of Dale Robbins' most quietly powerful.
